What does it mean to be ENERGY STAR partners?
LED Light Energy is dedicated to energy efficiency and to providing the highest quality LED fixtures and lamps to our customers. As with every new and promising technology, early suppliers tend to overstate the performance of the products, which of course leads to disappointed customers. In order to avoid such misrepresentation and to ensure that the technology continues to be adopted by the market, several LED suppliers including LED Light Energy, have committed to fact based, field and lab tested data, of LED fixtures through our partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and its Energy Star program. The EPA essentially set standards for LED fixtures and those that meet or exceed the standards are rated as “Energy Star.” This assures customers that the quality and performance of this LED product has been verified by a third party and will deliver on all of its claims.
There are many fixtures in the process of being tested and others that have already been tested and rated. Our offering includes many of these fixtures and we continue to push and work towards getting the Energy Star rating for everything we offer. Examples of such products are: Cree Lighting’s LR6 and LR4 recessed down lights, Kichler Lighting’s under cabinet and several LED replacement PARs, MR16s, A19 shaped bulbs which are now qualified by Energy Star. We are also planning to certify our own track lights in the near future.
In addition, several utilities across the US provide some very attractive incentives to replace inefficient existing lighting with LED lighting (and other efficient lighting technologies). This has encouraged many facilities to retrofit their facilities and lower the load (demand) on the grid. One of the main requirements to get the incentive is the use of Energy Star rated fixtures as these have been tested by a third party, DOE approved lab. As an Energy Star partner we already encourage and push the use of Energy Star rated lamps, and the incentives from the utilities make it economically attractive for customers to use them.
Here are a few examples of the Energy Star rated retrofit lamps that we have used in several of our projects:

What is the Energy Star Program?
ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Department of Energy (DOE) that helps consumers save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. ENERGY STAR products and guidance can help you with choosing which appliances to buy, how best to remodel your home, even buying a new home that is ENERGY STAR rated.
According to the Energy Star program statistics, results are already adding up: “Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved enough energy in 2008 alone to avoid greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those from 29 million cars — all while saving $19 billion on their utility bills”.
